When a line goes down and the fault is in the controls, the plant is waiting on whoever can read the logic. In most facilities, that is one or two people, and if neither is on shift, the clock keeps running.
PLC training is one of the more direct answers to that. It is also one of the few skills technicians actively want, which makes it useful during onboarding and for keeping people once they are there.
