Natoma Manufacturing was experiencing continued challenges with recruiting skilled labor. The smaller community’s talent pool was not sustainable and results from traditional recruitment efforts were declining. The company started a small, summer pilot internship program with area high school juniors. In post-program evaluations, the interns indicated they would like to return the next year and are interested in pursuing this field as a long-term career.

Hillyard Technical Center needed a quick solution to the early and unexpected departure of an instructor. After a quick discovery and expedited course-curriculum mapping, WorkForge was able to get the CTE program back on track. Some students of the program even won a regional qualifier competition with the knowledge they were able to obtain from the courses.

Buchanan County, Missouri partnered with WorkForge and the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce to create a unique employee skills development program for area businesses continuing to grapple with labor issues stemming from COVID-19. The group were able to allocate ARPA funding and open a employee training program to any organization based in Buchanan County, in an effort to upskill, reskill and retain their employees.
